Thruxton CSCC Classic K

Hi
I recently entered the Classic K at Thruxton in my Elan. It's a one hour race for cars that have FIA appendix K papers. There were several Elans taking part, including mine, David Holroyds and David Garrett's lovely Orange 26R, as well as Richard Bateman and the Flewitts'. I got into the lead, then it was raining on half the circuit and combined with traffic, I got overtaken by the eventual winner John Spiers in his TVR Griffith - I'm sure we would have retaken the lead but we had a front wheel spinner come loose (it was wired on so how did that happen) which cost us quite some time and we ended up 12th.
David Garrett held the lead for a while (he converted from a coupe to a dhc when his roof came off) until he had engine problems and retired, leaving our David Holroyd to come in a fine second behind the Griffith.
I've posted some short video clips on youtube - https://youtu.be/8p9yoFn8y4o - as usual, watch if you like that sort of thing, avoid if you find it boring!
The meeting is also to be televised on Motors TV, Sky Channel 445, Virgin Media 545 , provisionally starting on Wednesday 7th September, 20:00 (1 hour highlights) - I'll send a short post once it's up on the streaming website.
