Any thoughts on the best current arrangement for the above (for an S2)?

TTR has an option that sits inside the n/s inner wing (so no brackets needed) but I already have a coolant return bottle located there (could be moved of course - I have a bracket)

Presumably I can use the existing crank case breather outlet to fit one connection to the tank, but have to drill the cam cover & fit an outlet there to feed the second connection to the tank?

Any help appreciated.

have a look at the engine photo in the Elan Race History thread , it shows the usual method with the existing crank case breather blanked off and a breather pipe from the front of the cam cover to the oil catch tank

This how I have done it on my Elan down to the TTR fibreglass catch tank that wedges in the LH triangular body section ahead of the foot well. I have recently concluded I need a larger bore connection to the head and breather pipe as the engine sump pressures itself up and blows oil out the front seal on the longer high speed circuits where I sit at max revs for long periods.

I don't use the original breather location as this is removed with the McCoy conversion heads

Thanks chaps - I have a noisy tappet anyway so I can do this as well with the cam cover off!

Rohan - what bore piping would you suggest?

For road use 1/2 inch should be fine like I have. For racing maybe need 3/4 inch.

Further to the above-I have a "clive boy "fitting and then a hose going to a catch tank instead of back into the air box.
Is that adequate?

The normal breather vent is certainly adequate for a road car with an engine in good condition whether it is directed to a catch tank or to the air box. The only issue with the air box destination is that if the engine is worn and blowby is increasing you get more rapid plug fouling than normal because of the oil mist going back to the air box. Venting to a catch tank in these circumstances helps slow the plug fouling.
