Sealing between windscreen frame and hardtop

Any good methods to seal between the top of the windscreen frame and the hardtop. Prefer not to use duct tape on the outside. I had a look at the Gold Bug at Donnington and the gap was filled with some type of black mastic sealant but that would prevent easy removal of the hardtop.

I also don't use any sealing method & no rain comes in from this area, even when parked up.

Plenty of the wet stuff enters from other locations, but nothing from the hardtop / windscreen seal (this is with an S2 - the hard top from Tony Thompson)!!

I suspect that the "gaffer tape" seen in old pics was more to do with supposedly improving air flow over the top of the car? There is no doubt that much more wind noise is generated (as heard internally) with the hard top fitted as compared to a soft top, & I assume that this represents more resistance to forward motion?

I was in the UK this week and near to (can't say) where I saw at least 3 s1's and 2's and even a 26R all with awful duct tape sealing off wind and rain on the joint between the front of the hardtop the windscreen frame.
In my opion cars of this calibre and price range should be spot on.
