Lotus 30? maybe, looks like its for the 289 - 302 height block. You need to get another hood for the boss 302 to really ruin your gas mileage but who would care, you could watch the cloud of fuel hover above the stacks! :D

These photos are from Monterey 2007 and I didn't get any engine photos, I helped Jay for a bit as he was by himself and had some problems getting it started. he was using some either and the getting to the key and cranking. It would fire and die, repeat and die. So I offered to be the spray master and he worked the key and throttle. It ran but only on the juice so a fuel pump swap was done I think and that took care of it. I didn't really pay any attention to the intake manifold so I can't say if it had lotus cast into it or not. I have his email someplace it you can't find out anything here.

Don't think it is a 30, they had twin-choke Webers. The 40 started out with the same 289 engine as the 30 (+10 more mistakes) and then went to the 351 motor, also on twin-choke Webers, initially, before "advancing" to Tecalmit-Jackson fuel injection. That is what I think we are looking at but I'm not putting myself forward as a guru.

Last year I saw an unused Lotus 30 inlet manifold but it did not have "Lotus" cast in it, as far as I can remember. I've got a photo.... somewhere.

Mike,
Breath? Not at all; the folks who really know about these things will either be: dead, in a care home, Florida, Thailand, not into e-mail, or, like myself, permanently out to lunch.

Have you contacted Classic Team Lotus?

http://www.classicteamlotus.co.uk/default.aspx

They might be able to put you in touch with Bob Dance or someone who was there at the time but don't expect them to fall over themselves, why should they? Searches like yours often take months... or years.

You might need to change your attitude/expectations unless you are in a position to offer cash.

Mike,

Hows the Boss?

Im not an expert on windsor/Clevelands but I thought they were "wet" manifolds.

http://www.carburetion.com/weber/wildv8.asp

I found this on the net while searching for manifolds for my 351C. Probably doesnt help you but i cant find any pics of the one in the pics,or any reference to it.could it be from a development DFV type????

This is a wet one. There are some folks out there with type 30 race cars.....but only some. I went to the Pink Stamps Lotus Type 30 site and many of the race cars seem to be unaccounted for. Of course the website has not been updated for a while. Found some Type 30's on You Tube.

Sooo will do more homework. You guys have been helpful and as soon a I find out something I will let you know.

Paul,
The Boss is resting, need to take it out and go through a tank of gas on some twisties. Check "down under/Oz" for Cleveland intakes. Those boys make make top notch Cleveland parts. Some of the Boss guys here are using these parts on the B2's. Join us over on the Boss 302 Registry.....some real sharp lads that chime in. I sent you a PM.........don't know if you got it or not.
