racing at haunted hills video

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd share my video from the Haunted Hills track last weekend. I was aiming to get below 70 sec and did it with 67.86 so I was quite chuffed! even beat some actual race cars!
I got quite a lot of understeer in those last corners and wasn't really sure what to do about it. I think my main problem at the moment is a lack of bravery.
Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.

Hi Jim
Great to see another Elan out there on the track having a go.
The starting point is get to know the car and build a feeling as to how it behaves when pushed to the limit. As you build experience then you can start to figure out what you want to do about how the car handles, stops and goes. There is a lot of experience now here and elsewhere on options in "improving" an Elan for track work. Are you coming to the LCV meeting at Richards shed tomorrow? and we can talk some more

Phil it's a very tricky track with heaps of off camber turns, I've already gone off after turn 3 (in the wet) in my old car a Triumph Spitfire. I don't think i'll ever run in the wet there again even though the Elan feels one hundred times more stable and predictable than the spitty.
Thinking about what you said Rohan I think I made the mistake with my last car of trying to change things without learning to drive it first. You're totally right.
