65 Elan with Cosworth BDP for Sale

PostPost by: jselk » Mon Apr 12, 2010 11:58 pm

I have been a co-owner of this Lotus for 20 years and it is time to move on. This car is in great condition with only 2,500 miles since body off restoration. The car has a 2000cc Aluminum Cosworth BDP dry sump(235 HP) and includes a complete 135HP Twin Cam that was running great when pulled from the vehicle about 5 years ago. Spyder frame, Quaiffe differential, Electromotive crank-fired ignition, Fuel Injection, custom seats and much more.
Please visit "http://home.rr.com/jselk" for more information.
The car is located in Southern California - looking for $30,000

Hi All,

Just to let you all know, I have really stupid grin all over my face, its home and I cannot believe what I have, its even the same colour (not color) as my S4. Neil and I picked it up from the importers this morning, we were prepared for it to be not as good as the photos we had seen, but its better and by a long way. I will post photos shortly and keep you all informed what I intend to do with it. As it stands at the moment, I need a handbrake on it some legal tyres, and a wind screen wiper motor that should get it an MOT. Its chassis number is 26/4473 exported to the USA in November 1965 its been away far to long. I have to say the work that has been carried out is first class, the body was painted in 1991, and is exceptional nothing untoward on it at all, a credit to whoever prepared and painted it.

I have re-tuned the radio to Radio 4 so it will know where it lives.

On another topic does anybody know the new controller of Radio 4 if so can we have the UK theme back?

Just a little update on what has happened to this car, the BDP engine has been removed and sold, the spare 1700 tall block Twin Cam engine that came with it is in my S4 along with a 6 speed box and the S2 now has a very nice Twin Cam back in it with a normal gearbox. And very nice it look too. I will post photos soon.
