it's just standard "Nyloc nut" + Plain Washer + fibre washer + sealant.
Do not use Senloc or all metal locking nuts because when you remove them they will damage threads on camshaft threads.

I don't have a close-up, but if you want to see what should be there I suggest you look at [email protected], at the parts manual for Elan (or Elan Plus 2, or Europa TC since they both show the ribbed cam cover) and all that is shown is a washer and a nut on each of the studs holding down the cover.
I put a 1/4" washer under each nut as well rather than screw down directly onto the Seloc washer, possibly an unnecessary precaution against damage to the Seloc.

If the document attached is correct it seems that in a sense a seloc is meant to get damaged as it is tightened up. That's how it works. So presumably you shouldn't use them twice. But I do. http://supaseal.co.uk/datasheets/seloc.pdf

I haven't tried them yet, but these washers seem like the way to go to prevent leaks along the cam cover studs.

LotusS2guy,
These washers look promising.
Are you in the UK?
Who supplies them?

Seloc are supposed to be used only once and thrown away, which has always been a pain, if you have to take the cover off again, for example after bedding in a head gasket and re-tightening.
Those Gaynor washers look good but can they be re-used I wonder?

The diagram in the Gaynor data sheet makes it look as though they would deform too much on first use to be properly re-usable, but you never know until you try. A Google search comes up with other possibilities such as these, which are said to be re-usable: http://apmhexseal.com/self-sealing_washers.aspx
