S4 Pedal Box Mounting

I am converting an S4 from LHD to RHD and am at the stage of drilling all the holes in the right place! My car doesn't have any obvious sings of these holes already being drilled at the factory. All I really need is a datum starting point such as one of the upper master cylinder mounting holes. If any of you guys have an Elan currently stripped down could you possibly measure the position of one of these holes from the engine compartment side. I assume that the 2 small holes on the other end of the pedal box main bracket also bolts to the firewall and this would be of interest as another measuring point.
It looks like I am going to need to make a spacer (or use washers) about 3/4 inch thick to get the pedal shaft mounting attachment in the correct position where it attaches to the metal plate in front of the door. Seems that this area could have been designed slightly better.
I almost feel that it is easier to drill the 2 small holes where the pedal bracket mounts to the firewall first??
One other measurement I would be interested in is the distance between the side of the accelerator pedal and the flat slotted metal bracket where the shaft mounts (as previously mentioned).
Sorry for the length of this question! Any help would be most welcome as I wouldn't want to drill in the wrong place!!

Hello William,
From the right hand side of the accelerator pedal to the slotted plate is 2" exactly on mine.
It has been stripped out at least twice already but everything does seem to line up at that position, so it isn`t far off. I cannot easily measure the other positions.
While you are there, you may be interested in my post recently about changing the spacing of the pedals. I do not know how to do a link, but if you search -pedal spacing- it comes up first.
Hope this helps,

Hello William.
Funny that you ask, I am in the process of doing exactly the opposite on an Elan S3, i.e. converting from RHD to LHD (I live in Canada).
The body is completely stripped now so it would be easy to take measurements or attach photos, if I can figure out how.
The swap seems easy enough if you have the other set of pedals for the other side since the holes in the footwell for both the master cylinders and the steering column are already there. So I figured I would simply bolt the pedals bracket to the master cylinders in their holes in the footwell, bolt up the shaft bracket to the metal side plate in front of the door (with some spacers as you said), and then drill the two small holes in the firewall where the other end of the pedals bracket would align, possibly using some shims if needed.
Hope this helps. Let me know whether you need pictures. Cheers!

Hi William,
Same as Eric's car, the distance between the accel. pedal and the side bracket is 2". Mine has 5/8" spacers between the side bracket and the alloy pivot housing. The centreline of the top clutch cylinder attachment bolt to the horizontal fibreglass panel under the rear carby is 1 5/8" and from the brake (left hand )top mount bolt to the panel is 2 1/16" both measured from under the bonnet. The pedal shaft is pretty well horizontal and the left hand mount with 2 holes is up as high as possible and is just contacting the underside of the horizontal panel under the rear carby.
I hope this helps
