Holes in Footwell - what is which?

I'm wholly (sorry about the pun) muddled about the holes in the footwell of my Elan Sprint. The problem is that I have never seen the car assembled, so don't know what goes where. Referring to my photo:

1 - this large hole is at the side of the footwell (RHD car), and I guess will be beside the bell housing once the body is on the chassis. What is it for?
2 - is high up under the shelf. Purpose?
3 - is for the steering column, I think.
4 - is for the brake master cylinder.
5 - is for the clutch master cylinder.
6 - is this for the handbrake cable? Why is it so large?

Thanks in advance for your help. This forum is absolutely invaluable to this car builder who bought a dismantled car, never having worked on an Elan before.

on my sprint n?1 has a rubber bung in it and is inline with the petrol pump ( could be usefull for tightening pump securing screws).
N?2 is for heater hose to pass through.

Ah, the petrol pump. Since I am using an electric pump at the back of the car, I don't need that one then. Thanks for your help.

I have an S4, so should be similar:
1 - Not sure about this hole, if it is there, its behind the carpet.
2 - is for the R/H heater hose.
3 - is for the steering column.
4 - is for the brake master cylinder.
5 - is for the clutch master cylinder.
6 - is for the forward end of the handbrake mechanism. On the S4, the aft end of the umbrella handle type handbrake mechanism is screwed to the horizontal part of the engine bulkhead above your right leg. This screw is fitted from inside the engine comparment. The forward end of the mechanism pokes through, and is supported by, a grommet fitted into hole number 6.
