Electric Circuits in cars in general

Following on from some misunderstandings between members about electrical circuits over in the MODS section, I thought it might be nice to have on this forum a link to a suitable book or course on electric circuits for all of us to use as a refresher.
It proved difficult to find a suitable page on the Internet, most of the ones I found were far too trivial, being how to connects a battery to a light-bulb and a switch, aimed at 8-year old children.
But after an hour or so of searching I eventually found a free on-line book aimed at the appropriate adult level, ideal as a refresher course for us all.

And this chapter in particular:
http://www.ibiblio.org/kuphaldt/electri ... /DC/DC.pdf
I like the fact that it compares voltage to water pressure etc with pretty diagrams a comparison that I started to make over in:
elan-mods-f31/battery-cut-off-switch-t27407-30.html
before I realised that making a really good explanation of that type was a lifetimes job.
