After 3 years of work my Elan is done and driving beautifully. I am in love with it.

Congratulations, a great looking elan. What did it look like when you started?

Rest assured I'll be looking at these pics many times over the next couple of years, as a reference point and for inspiration!

Thank you Robert.

Here are some photos chronicling the last 3 years. In the first photo it looks half decent, but the whole body was covered in blisters and the interior was completely rotten.

More please I beg you!

I adore the colour and you may have persuaded me to change the colour of mine when I restore her, did you do your own paint job or just the prep work?

Car looks superb. What shade of blue is it? Ken.
Slightly confused by everything since the invention of the wheel.

Looks like Medici Blue, is that correct? The car looks extremely nice, you did a great job!

Thank you all!

I didn't do the painting, it was done as a part of the purchase deal, but if I was to do it again I wouldn't have done it before the interior (which I did do).

It's Wedgwood blue. Very close to Medici, which is a bit more aqua.

Regards,
Adi

What a fabulous looking car.

I think Wedgewood blue is 'correct' for an S3, though Lotus would paint the cars any colour you wanted for a fee.

The previous owner of my S3 painted the car white in 1974, it was originally pale blue, I love white Elans, but when I see your car it makes me want to paint mine blue!
