In these rather dark times here is a bit of levity from 1969, found scribed into the door of lotcones December '69 S4.

Thanks for posting the pictures of that 1969 message "Chelsea for the F.A. Cup" that was found under my door trim.
I'm in the US and only know a little about the F.A. Cup. As you explained in an email, in '66 Lotus moved from Cheshunt on the outskirts of London to Norfolk (middle of nowhere), many of the staff made the move. Chelsea was and is a big London team and the 1970 FA Cup Final was one of the big events of 1970. It makes perfect sense that a worker at Lotus would show his team support to others at the factory.
I also noticed the door has 8350 scribed into it. I don't understand what that number means as the car unit number is 45/9807.
Anyone have any ideas?
